Terms and Conditions

THE ONE WORLD LANGUAGE CENTRE

1. General Information

These Terms and Conditions govern enrolment in and participation in courses, lessons and other services offered by The One World Language Centre, located at Viale Regina Margherita 6, 09125 Cagliari (CA), Italy, as well as purchases made through the oneworlditaliano.it website.

For information, assistance, changes or cancellations, please contact the school at info@oneworlditaliano.it.

By enrolling or making a purchase, the student confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

2. Group Lessons

Group lessons generally take place from Monday to Friday starting at 9:15 a.m., except on days when the school is closed.

The daily duration of lessons may vary depending on the number of students in the group, as specified in the relevant course information.

The school reserves the right to organise lessons in the afternoon if, for organisational reasons, classrooms or teachers are not available in the morning.

A break is scheduled during morning lessons.

In the event of any problems or complaints, students may contact the school office or management.

3. Individual Lessons

Individual lessons may take place at the school or online, depending on the service purchased.

Any request by the student to reschedule or cancel an individual lesson must be made at least 24 hours in advance. For lessons scheduled on Mondays, notification must be received by the preceding Friday.

In the event of late cancellation or non-attendance, the lesson will be considered as having taken place and cannot be rescheduled, unless otherwise agreed with the school.

4. Public Holidays and School Closures

The school is closed on public holidays and on any other closure dates indicated in the course calendar.

When a public holiday falls on a group lesson day, the lessons will be made up according to the schedule and arrangements communicated by the school.

5. Accommodation

Upon request, One World can assist enrolled students in finding accommodation with host families, in private apartments, B&Bs or other available accommodation.

Unless otherwise indicated, accommodation is paid for directly by the student to the owner or accommodation provider.

One World provides assistance in finding accommodation and is not a party to the contractual relationship between the student and the owner or accommodation provider.

The accommodation options proposed are selected taking into account factors such as location, condition, cleanliness and comfort. As the properties and accommodation facilities are managed by third parties, their characteristics, furnishings and locations may vary.

For private apartments and host families, students must inform the owner or host family of their date and time of arrival at least 48 hours in advance, unless otherwise instructed.

6. Enrolment

Enrolment in a course is confirmed once the enrolment process has been completed and payment has been made using one of the available payment methods.

For some courses, students may choose to pay a €150 deposit at the time of enrolment and pay the remaining balance upon arrival at the school.

The €150 deposit option is not available for special offers and may not be available for certain courses or services.

The €60 enrolment fee is payable as indicated in the relevant course offer and is valid for 12 months.

The fee includes course materials, student welcome and orientation, a city tour and lifetime access to a One World video course.

7. Balance and Payment Methods

Payments can be made by bank transfer, credit card or PayPal, according to the options available at the time of enrolment.

When the €150 deposit with balance payable on arrival option is selected, the remaining amount must be paid upon arrival at the school using the available payment methods.

For special offers or certain courses and services, full payment may be required at the time of enrolment.

Any promotions, special offers or special conditions are valid only under the terms and for the period specified in the relevant offer.

9. Cancellation by the Student

Any cancellation request must be communicated to the school in writing.

Where a €150 deposit has been paid, the deposit is refundable if the student notifies the school of the cancellation at least 7 days before the course start date, without prejudice to any statutory right of withdrawal applicable to purchases made at a distance.

If cancellation is communicated less than 7 days before the course start date, the deposit is non-refundable, without prejudice to any mandatory rights granted to consumers by law.

Specific conditions relating to study visas, special programmes or other types of enrolment may be provided separately at the time of booking.

10. Right of Withdrawal for Distance Purchases

When a consumer enrols or makes a purchase online or through another distance-selling method, the provisions concerning the right of withdrawal under the Italian Consumer Code apply.

Subject to the exceptions provided by law, consumers have 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise their right of withdrawal without having to provide a reason.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, consumers may send an explicit statement of their decision to withdraw to info@oneworlditaliano.it.

If the consumer requests that a course or service begin during the withdrawal period, the provisions of applicable law concerning services that begin before the expiry of the withdrawal period shall apply.

Any exceptions provided by law and all mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

11. Absences and Course Withdrawal

Group lessons missed due to the student's absence cannot be made up or refunded.

If a student voluntarily withdraws from a course that has already started, lessons not attended are not automatically refundable, without prejudice to any rights provided by law or any different conditions expressly agreed with the school.

For individual lessons, the cancellation conditions set out in Section 3 apply.

12. Changes or Cancellations by the School

For organisational or educational reasons, One World may make reasonable changes to lesson times, teachers or the organisation of lessons, while seeking to ensure continuity and quality of service.

If the school is unable to provide a purchased course or service, depending on the circumstances, it will offer an alternative solution, replacement lessons or a refund of the amount paid for the service that was not provided.

13. Student Conduct

Students are expected to behave respectfully towards teachers, staff, other students and school premises.

In the event of serious or repeated behaviour that compromises safety, the proper conduct of activities or respect for other participants, the school may take appropriate measures in accordance with applicable law.

14. Liability

One World undertakes to provide its courses and services professionally and in accordance with the relevant offers.

The school cannot be held responsible for delays, interruptions or inability to provide services due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

For online lessons, One World is not responsible for problems arising from the student's Internet connection, devices or software.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

15. Complaints

For any problem relating to a course or service, students may contact the school office or management.

Complaints may be sent to info@oneworlditaliano.it, allowing the school to review the matter and seek a solution.

16. Applicable Law and Consumer Rights

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law.

Where the student purchases as a consumer, any mandatory rights granted under the Italian Consumer Code and, where applicable, the laws of the consumer's country of residence remain unaffected.
