This course combines morning group lessons with a private afternoon session dedicated to Sardinian culture. You learn Italian in the morning and then explore the island’s identity more deeply in your personalised afternoon lesson.

Course Structure

  • 4 hours of group Italian lessons in the morning

  • 1 private lesson in the afternoon focused on Sardinian history, culture, and traditions

Course Content

  • Blue Zone: a look at Ogliastra, one of the world’s five Blue Zones, and the lifestyle of its long-living inhabitants

  • Nuragic civilization: an introduction to prehistoric Sardinia through nuraghi, domus de janas, dolmens, and menhirs, exploring their history and possible functions

  • Festivals and traditions: events such as Sant’Efisio (Cagliari), Cavalcata Sarda (Sassari), and Sartiglia (Oristano), along with local craftsmanship and gastronomy

  • Myths and legends: the island’s rich folklore, including the Janas, fairies and goblins, and darker figures such as Sa Femmina Accabadora, S’Ammutadori, and Sa Filonzana
