Why Cagliari?

Cagliari is the principle city of the island of Sardinia. It is a historic city with a modern spirit and it is the perfect place to learn Italian for the following reasons:

  • The city is not overrun by tourists and when you travel around the city you will hear people talking Italian, not English;

  • In Cagliari people speak a pure Italian, which is easy to understand. They either speak Italian (which is what 99% of people do) or Sardinian, not a mixture of the two;

  • People from Cagliari are known for their hospitality and they will be keen to chat with you, giving you the chance to practise your Italian out of the classroom;

  • Cagliari enjoys clear blue skies and warm temperatures all year round meaning that it is an ideal location any time of the year;

  • Cagliari has its own wonderful beach, the Poetto, and some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, like Chia and Villasimius, are a short distance away.

In the below videos Veronica takes us on a tour of the Castello (Cagliari's Old Town), the Marina (where our school is located), Villanova (the main shopping area), the port (located directly opposite the school) and Cagliari's beaches (the Poetto and Calamosca).
